Luis Suarez may have suffered a knee injury that could end his World Cup dreams, but it is not all bad news for the Uruguay striker right now, for he has been ranked as the best player in the game. Still, perhaps he may need a little more time to get over his current woes before fully appreciating this revelation.

BSports have produced their Power 50 rankings, and Suarez sits at the very summit and of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and 47 others. The analysis system created in order to produce this list covers over 100 types of player actions, enabling a rating to be produced based on their responsibilities on the field. And Suarez has the top rating.

The Liverpool stoker enjoyed a magnificent season at Anfield, scoring 31 times in the Premier League on his way to an awards treble. Liverpool, of course, so agonisingly missed out on the title, but will return to the Champions League next term.
