According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo, Ibaka has made a good recovery and even passed a team physical test yesterday.
"OKC ran Ibaka through battery of tests on Thursday and his calf responded well. Still soreness but a Sunday Game 3 return is possible." Wojnarowski tweeted earlier today.
This is certainly welcome news for coach Scott Brooks and his Thunder team after the Spurs took a commanding 2-0 lead in the series, beating Oklahoma City handily on both occasions.
Despite having current MVP, Kevin Durant and point guard Russell Westbrook in the team the San Antonio Spurs showed their superior ability especially inside the paint.
Of course there is no guarantee that Ibaka will be able to return at a high enough level to greatly improve the Thunder's chances but it does give Oklahoma City hope where it was dwindling before.
Game three of the series will take place in Oklahoma City on Sunday with the Thunder surely needing to win the game to have any chance of progressing to the NBA Finals.
