Kobe Bryant saves child from rampaging elephant

Kobe Bryant is supposed to be busy rehabilitating during the Lakers offseason as he looks to bounce back from an injury hit 2013-14 campaign.

Instead though, the Lakers legend has been spotted saving a small child from a rampaging elephant - or so a new Smart Car ad spot would have you believe.

Never one to shy away from a endorsement opportunity, Bryant can be seen promoting the latest offering from the car company with the help of first a small child dressed a a giant peanut (yeah, we're not sure why either), and then an elephant who takes an instant dislike to Kobe - he sure isn't the first there.

And while his knee might be busted, Bryant still manages to make a fairly decent getaway driver as he helps the peanut boy escape from the giant beast - careering through various movie sets in the process.

All in all, it is probably one of the weirder TV commercials you will see today.
