Arturo Vidal closing in on Real Madrid move

Manchester United are set to miss out on yet another midfield target as Real Madrid are preparing to offer Juventus a player-plus-cash deal in order to land Arturo Vidal.

The Daily Star believe Real Madrid are going to use the likes of Marcelo, Fabio Coentrao and Alvaro Morata as bait in order to land their number one midfield target.

Vidal has established himself as one of the leading midfielders in world football over the past few years - helping Juventus seal domestic glory in each of the last three seasons.

The Chile international has struck up a terrific partnership with Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba, which has led to the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid showing a keen interest in signing the 27-year-old.

Louis van Gaal is said to have placed Vidal high up on his transfer shortlist, however he looks set to be trumped by Real Madrid in the race to sign the highly-coveted South American.

Real Madrid’s offer to include a number of their first team players in the deal as well as £30million is likely to tempt Juventus into doing business with their Spanish counterparts rather than Manchester United.
