Cesc Fabregas suits the Liverpool system, says Fowler

Robbie Fowler believes Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas suits Liverpool's style of play.

As reported by talkSPORT, the former Reds striker has insisted that Fabregas would be the ideal signing for the Anfield outfit this summer.

Reports have suggested that the Barcelona ace - who is set to star for Spain at this summer's World Cup - has been put up for sale.

And it appears that Liverpool are in the race to sign the £30 million rated star, if reports are to be believed.

Fowler certainly thinks Liverpool should bring the former Arsenal man to Anfield this summer, as he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show: “Fabregas is a player I’ve always liked. When those kind of players become available you always want to sign them.

“Fabregas is a world recognised player and he would suit the Liverpool system.”

It remains to be seen as to whether Liverpool step up in their pursuit of the midfielder in the near future, but it appears that he could be heading back to the Premier League sooner rather than later.

He'd certainly be a welcome addition in the middle of the park alongside Steven Gerrard and Co. as the Reds look to go one better next season and win the Premier League title.
