Liverpool's signing of Southampton striker Rickie Lambert will begin a summer spending spree of up to £80 million at the club, according to The Daily Star.

Lambert, who is set to take part in this summer's World Cup with England, completed his move to the Merseyside outfit today after he passed a medical at Melwood.

And now, after the £4m signing of the 32-year-old, the Reds are set to target a number of other stars as they look to add to their options ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.

With the £80m available, it appears that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to swoop for Lambert's ex-teammates Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Dejan Lovren.

Reports have also suggested that the Merseyside outfit want Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri and Bayer Leverkusen youngster Bayer Leverkusen Emre Can.

It remains to be seen, however, as to how many stars Rodgers can bring to Anfield ahead of next season, but it certainly appears that Liverpool are set for a busy summer.

The Reds will be desperate to go one better in the Premier League next season after securing a second place finish last term.
