The Tampa Bay Rays have finally ended the losing streak that has seen them fall adrift of the Boston Red Sox in the AL East.

Following a convincing 4-0 win over the Seattle Mariners at Tropicana Field on Friday the Rays terrible losing streak has finally come to an end.

The streak that has consisted of series losses to the Red Sox, Miami Marlins and the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Rays hadn't won since their 8-5 victory over the Red Sox on May 25th.

Jose Molina hit a fly ball in the fourth inning which gave Kevin Kiermaier the chance to score where he was able to put Tampa Bay up 1-0.

That would have been enough to beat Seattle but Evan Longoria and James Loney both ran home in the fifth inning to give Tampa a commanding lead.

The rout was finished off in the seventh when Yunel Escobar was able to run home from 3rd base and seal a commanding 4-0 win.

Tampa Bay and Seattle have three more matches to come in their current series and Rays fans fans will surely be hoping for their performance from tonight to continue.
