Javier Hernandez will not start up front for Mexico in their World Cup opener versus Cameroon this Friday, but judging by this video the Manchester United striker hasn't given up hope of finding his way into the team in another position.

A practice game during a Mexico training session out in Brazil saw the diminutive Hernandez put on the goalie gloves for a spell in net - and it looks like his teammates kept him busy throughout.

While Chicharito seems to be doing his best to avoid the ball at times as the shots rain in, the 26-year-old does manage to pull off a couple of decent saves in the video above.

Most notably at 1.58 where some cat like reflexes see Hernandez push the ball over from close range.

Despite his best efforts though, we can't quite see Mexico manager, Miguel 'El Piojo' Herrera, opting to hand Hernandez the number one jersey over established first choice keeperJose de Jesus Corona even if he did deal with those high balls fairly well.
