Liverpool transfer target Alberto Moreno is not on Merseyside to complete his move to the club, but is instead on holiday with his girlfriend.

Reports had suggested that the Sevilla full-back was due at Anfield to undergo a medical, and could even be announced as a Liverpool player in the coming days.

However Liverpool fans hoping for that to happen may well be disappointed after Moreno was snapped alongside girlfriend LiLia Granadilla in an exotic location that didn't look much like Liverpool yesterday.

Just yesterday it was reported by the Daily Mail that the deal was all but complete, with Liverpool set to pay out around £16.3 million plus add-ons for his services. The paper claimed he should have been in England yesterday with his father and agent accompanying him on his trip to Anfield on order to wrap up some loose ends.

While that doesn't appear to be the case his move from Spain is expect to go through in the near future.

When the transfer is finalised it will mark Liverpool's third piece of business before the summer window even opens. Rickie Lambert was snapped up from Southampton for around £4.5 million, while Emre Can has completed a £10 million switch.

Liverpool finished second in the Premier League last season thus earning a spot in the Champions League, and boss Brendan Rodgers is being proactive in his attempts to reinforce his squad in order to accommodate for the increase in fixtures.
