Richard Sherman has put some of his lucrative new four-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks to good use this week - handing over $2.3 million to Los Angeles Clippers player Jamal Crawford for a mansion in Maple Valley, Washington.

On the back of helping the Seahawks lift the Super Bowl last season, the outspoken was recently rewarded by the franchise with a new contract worth $57.3 million and has followed the path trodden by many star athletes down the years by investing some of that cash in a luxury property.

According to Bleacher Report, Crawford - the 2014 Sixth Man of the Year in the NBA - is actually making a loss on the vast 9,475 square-foot property however, having originally purchased the mansion for $3.231 million back in 2006.

And judging by the pictures of the pad, which can be seen here, Sherman has got himself a relative steal. As much as spending over two million dollars on a house can be classed as a steal that is.

As well as five bedrooms, and six-and-a-half bathrooms, the three story property comes complete with; a games room, a billiards room, an indoor heated swimming pool, and it's own basketball court.

We are assuming Sherman will not find quite as much use for that last item as the previous incumbent.

Mind you, with money to spare from his new deal, and a huge array of recent endorsement deals ranging from EA Sports to chunky soup and beef jerky we wouldn't be surprised to see Sherman install a full size replica of CenturyLink Field somewhere on the property in the future.

Sherman was mightily impressive during the Seahawks' last campaign, finishing with eight interceptions and of course one incredibly entertaining post-game interview following the Seahawks playoff win over the San Francisco 49ers.

His recent success brought him the new big money contract, as well as wider acclaim which manifested itself recently in Sherman winning the battle to become the cover star for Madden 15.

Jamal Crawford meanwhile, himself a Seattle native, seems to have decided to sell his local home after having been with the Los Angeles Clippers since 2012.
