World Cup all-time Dream XI (1)

Unless you’ve quite literally been living in a remote rainforest for the past four years you’ll be well aware that the World Cup in Brazil begins tonight.

As is to be expected on the eve of possibly the world’s most celebrated competition, the media has been inundated with various features predicting which players will rise and fall over the duration of the tournament, and which teams have a fair chance of doing well. Whilst that’s to be expected, it can all get a bit bland - and who wants bland? No one, that’s who.

As such we’ve decided to be a little bit different, and instead looked to the past merely a few hours before Brazil v Croatia marks the official start of the 2014 World Cup. Serving up a healthy dose of undoubted controversy, we’ve decided to put together an all-time World Cup dream team, made up solely of those who have gone down in history as having been renown for their dazzling displays on international football’s grandest stage.

There’s always going to be those who disagree with our selection, and it’s a pretty safe claim to state that you’ll all have you’re own opinions as to who deserves to make the cut. We want to know them.
