Of all the players participating in this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, Paul Pogba is most certainly amongst those who will be watched with the most scrutiny and interest.

The France midfielder is coming off the back of yet another top quality campaign at club level with Juventus, and there’s plenty of people who are expecting him to become the lynchpin of Didier Deschamps Les Blues side, particularly in the absence of the injured Franck Ribery. But while his national team don’t kick-off their tournament until Sunday, when they take on Honduras, the 21-year-old has been showing just what he is capable of in training.

Only a few days following on from the last video which showed Pogba mesmerising a camera with his silky skills with a ball, another has emerged of the youngster showing off his incredible technique as France train in Brazil. Manchester United fans will likely be particularly interested, as they’ve been hotly linked with a swoop to take the star back to Old Trafford this summer.

Louis van Gaal is said to rate the Serie A midfielder highly, and it’s clear to see that a player of his considerable flair would inject some much needed excitement into United’s midfield. Though the steady heads of Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley and Darren Fletcher all reigned supreme under Sir Alex Ferguson, none truly impressed last term, and the acquisition of a top class man for the middle of the park will rank high on the new boss’ list of things to do.

Rated at a cool £65million Pogba’s won’t come cheap, but he could well the sort of blockbuster buy Van Gaal needs if he is to truly convince the fans that the dismal seventh placed finish last season was simply a minor blip on the road to post-Ferguson recovery. The starlet already has 11 caps for France’s senior team, and will undoubtedly add a few more to that tally as the tournament progresses this summer.

It’s said that Deschamps has recently told him to clean up his act with regards to his tendencies to sometimes walk around the pitch seemingly uninterested, and this is being seen as the French manager’s way of getting the absolute best out of his star man. We’re not usually ones to sit on the fence, but is it possible that he gets even better with a good World Cup under his belt?
