Post-game interviews with players who have just won a major championship are seldom boring and San Antonio Spurs Guard Manu Ginobili gave one of the best ever.
Following the Spurs triumph over the Miami Heat in game five of the NBA Finals, the Argentine spoke to NBA TV's broadcast team about the support for him in his home nation.
Ginobili claimed that no-one in Argentina would have witnessed the Spurs winning the NBA Championship because they would all be drunk from celebrating Argentina's World Cup win over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Sat with the Argentina flag over his lap, Ginobili claimed: "We are in the middle of the World Cup. Nobody cares, We won today, we beat Bosnia.
"We beat Bosnia and they’re already drinking."
Argentina overcame Bosnia 2-1 on Sunday night as they began their World Cup campaign and currently top Group F after Iran and Nigeria played out a 0-0 draw.
Ginobili went on to state that his fellow countrymen would be waking up on Monday to see the news of the Spurs success and seemed as happy as the folks back home at the teams opening game win.
