If there was any doubt that John Obi Mikel's future in Chelsea was in the balance after Mourinho took over, it was quickly brushed away when Nemanja Matic was recruited from Benfica in the the January transfer window.

The further addition of Cesc Fabregas this summer as left the Nigeria international's future looking bleak and the Express claim he will be made to find a new club once he return from the World Cup, where Nigeria's insipid first round display against Iran suggested his return will not be long in coming.

Mikel has been a solid servant for the Blues for a number of years, but he has been touted as possible fire sale fodder for some time and only 11 starts in the Premier League last season suggest Mourinho doesn't see him hanging round for very much longer.
