Manchester United winger Nani could still try and save his Old Trafford career, despite interest from two European clubs.

As reported by the Daily Star, the Portuguese ace - who is currently starring at the World Cup with Portugal - only signed a new five-year deal with the Red Devils last season, but has attracted interest from a number of clubs in recent time.

And if reports are to be believed, Serie A outfit Inter Milan are considering whether to make a £12 million move for the player's services. It also appears that Portuguese side Benfica are interested in the United wide-man.

Nani's struggled at the Theatre of Dreams in recent time, having failed to secure a regular starting spot at the club. Injuries haven't helped him either, with the star having been unable to maintain his fitness on a consistent basis.

The future

If Nani does stay at Old Trafford, then Manchester United fans will be hoping that he has a new lease of life under the new regime.

The Red Devils wingers all struggled for form under David Moyes last campaign, with youngster Adnan Januzaj the standout performer.

The likes of Nani and Ashley Young have it all to prove under the new Red Devils boss. Van Gaal, however, may believe he can get the best out of Nani and Co. much like he's done with Arjen Robben in the Dutch national side.

World Cup

Nani's immediate attention, however, will turn to helping Portugal secure a  place in the Round of 16 at the World Cup.

Ronaldo and Co. suffered a nightmare start to the tournament after being on the end of a heavy 4-0 beating by Germany.

Fans of the Red Devils will certainly be hoping to see some inspired performances from Nani in Brazil.
