Manchester United winger Nani has revealed that he could leave Old Trafford this summer, reports The Mirror.
The wide-man, who only signed a new five-year deal with the Red Devils last season, has admitted that he will be assessing his options ahead of a possible exit.
Interest
The United star has also suggested that there is interest in him, but isn't sure if he will return to Portugal in this transfer window.
"I'm a United player but there has been some interest on my behalf," Nani said to Portuguese sports newspaper Abola. "I will evaluate it and decide what is the most advantageous for me.
"A return to Portugal? Right now I don't know."
A number of clubs have been credited with interest in the player's services in recent time, but it remains to be seen as to whether any of the elite clubs move for him.
- Arsenal will pay no more than £8m for Nani
- Nani could save Man United career despite interest
- Nani must be sold by Manchester United
Arsenal
Manchester United's Premier League rivals Arsenal are one side that have been linked with a move for the winger in recent time, with reports indicating that the Portuguese star could head out of Manchester as part of a deal to bring Gunners captain Thomas Vermaelen to Old Trafford.
Arsenal, however, may have to battle Italian duo Inter Milan and Juventus for the 27-year-old this summer. It appears that Inter are leading the chase for his signature, but Italian champions Juventus are monitoring the situation closely.
United career
Nani has never been able to reach the great heights expected of him at Old Trafford. A number of inconsistent performances and injury problems have slowed down his progress at the Theatre of Dreams throughout his career.
The winger did win the club's Players’ Player of the Year award for 2011 after scoring 10 goals and assisting 18 in his best season for the club. He has, however, been unable to emulate that same form in recent years.
Van Gaal
It remains to be seen as to whether new Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal wants to keep the Portuguese star at Old Trafford for the 2014/15 campaign. United fans won't want to see him in an Arsenal shirt next season, but may believe the time is right to move him on.
With Adnan Januzaj at the club and Antonio Valencia having just signed a new three-year deal with the club, it remains to be seen as to whether the new Manchester United boss looks to bring in any winger recruits this summer. If Nani is shipped out, then the Dutch coach may look to replace him before the start of the season.
