It would appear that Louis van Gaal is far from ready to rest on his laurels in the transfer market with Manchester United, despite having already clinched deals for both Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw.

The Dutchman is said to now be looking for a midfield partner to field alongside the aforementioned £32million Spaniard, and one who will do the majority of the ball-winning in order to bring a defensive balance to the team. It’s said that a 3-4-3 formation will be put into practise as of United’s pre-season tour of the states, and Van Gaal is looking to find someone who can adequately occupy a deeper midfield role and consistently break up play.

Whilst there’s a host of viable candidates for the role United have to be very careful with who they task with it.
