Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target Hakan Calhanoglu has completed his move to Bayer Leverkusen.

As reported by talkSPORT, the 20-year-old midfielder has joined the Bundesliga side from Hamburg in a transfer worth up to £11m. Dubbed the 'new Ozil' last season, Calhanoglu had attracted the attention of the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Calhanoglu at Hamburg

The young midfielder enjoyed a successful individual campaign in an otherwise miserable season for his club. Hamburg battled relegation all year, and only narrowly avoided it via a relegation play-off.

On a personal level though, Calhanoglu had his best season yet, bagging 11 goals in 28 Bundesliga starts from his position on the left wing. The Germany-born Turkish international also chipped in with four assists.

Battle for his signature

The big guns circled Hamburg though, and after such a disappointing season the Bundesliga side were always going to find it difficult to hang on to one of their best players.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool were all keeping tabs on him during the second half of the season, but talkSPORT reported Bayer Leverkusen were always his most likely destination.

Premier League interest

The arrival of Calhanoglu comes shortly after Bayer Leverkusen confirmed the departure of midfielder Emre Can to Liverpool. The former-Bayern Munich youngster became Brendan Rodgers's third signing this week, following the arrival of Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert.

Chelsea meanwhile have brought in Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, and have now been strongly linked with Juventus star Paul Pogba. Central midfield no longer seems to be a concern for Arsenal, with centre forward the most pressing need at the Emirates Stadium.
