GiveMeSport brings you the headlines from the world of US sport.

We begin in the NBA where the Miami Heat secured two verbal agreements from free agents yesterday.

Unfortunately for Heat fans the recruits do not include any of the franchise’s Big Three. But according to reports both Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger have agreed to deals in the belief that LeBron James will be a teammate next season.

Meanwhile in baseball the Oakland A’s extended their lead at the top of the MLB rankings with a comprehensive 5-0 win over rivals the San Francisco Giants.

The result was the A’s fifth straight win, and their ninth shutout of the season so far and leaves the ball club with a 56-33 record.

And finally, female UFC star Ronda Rousey may not fight again this year.

After popping a cyst on her right hand whilst knocking out her opponent in just 16 seconds at UFC 175, Rousey has been placed on the medical suspension list.

She must be cleared by doctors if she wants to fight again before January 2nd.
