Arsenal are looking for a discount on Real Madrid star Sami Khedira after they were quoted £20m for the midfielder.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal officials have reconsidered their move for the Germany international after Real Madrid informed the Gunners that they're looking for £20m.
Arsenal had hoped to secure a deal for significantly cheaper considering Khedira has just one season left on his Bernbaeu contract.

Contract talks
Reports in Spain this week have claimed that the German international has rejected Real Madrid's offer of an extension, paving the way for him to join a Premier League club.
Manchester United have been long-term admirers of the midfielder, but the Gunners are reportedly the front runners. Having signed forward Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, Arsene Wenger will now focus on recruiting another central midfielder.
Khedira is his top target, but after splashing out £32m for the Chilean winger Wenger is reluctant to commit so much of his transfer budget on Khedira when other options are available.
Contenders?
Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin and Bayer Leverkusen's Lars Bender are the two alternatives for Arsenal should Real Madrid continue to insist on £20m for the 27-year-old Khedira.
Both would likely cost a similar amount to Khedira in terms of the initial transfer fee, but the German midfielder would command a much higher weekly wage.
Khedira would likely ask for something in the region of £150,000-a-week to join the Gunners, significantly more than Bender or Schneiderlin.
Busy summer
While Manchester United have completed deals for Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, with more reportedly on the way to Old Trafford, Arsenal have wasted little time too securing their main transfer targets.
French full-back Mathieu Debuchy is expected to be the next signing announced by the Emirates Stadium club, joining from Newcastle for a fee believed to be around the £11m mark. He replaces the departed Bacary Sagna.
