Derek Jeter is retiring from Major League Baseball at the end of the season - you may not have heard about it, it's been kept fairly low-key - and his last year in the Big League has been reduced to a fair-well tour of all the MLB Ball Parks.

Well after all the tosh he has received from the teams he has come up against, Jeter has now received a more meaningful send off gift, an excellent tribute from the Nike Jordan brand.

Notable Stars

The video, entitled 'Re2pect', has Jeter walking up to the plate against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester starts off the show of respect, slyly tipping his cap ever so slightly before the rest of the crowd joins in.

The rest of the video features notable New Yorkers, Jordan Brand athletes like Maya Moore, Carmelo Anthony, and Tiger Woods, former teammates of Jeter such as Joe Torre, Mariano Rivera and Andy Pettite.

There's also a smattering of celebrities on show, with Jay-Z, Rudy Giuliani and Spike Lee showing regards to Mr October and finally rivals tipping their caps as blurred out Mets players and Red Sox fans in a bar begrudgingly show their appreciation for what Jeter has done in baseball.

Classy Move

To me this is a classy move, it's understated - pretty much no words are said throughout the whole thing - and it is supremely respectful to a man who is one of the best of his generation. Also, it lets us all know that there are some people out there who are incredibly awkward at something as simple as tipping a cap.
