NFL teams dominate but Real Madrid beat every other team in the world

24/7 has revealed their list of the 50 most valuable sports teams for 2014 and despite a very strong showing of representatives from the NFL, it is European football that dominates.

It is the sport with only the second highest quantity of teams in the countdown, but it can boast the top three most valuable sports teams of 2014.

Spanish giants Real Madrid top the list while their LA Liga rivals Barcelona sit in second and England's biggest team Manchester United take third spot.

One other football team appears in the top 10 as the former Champions League winners and current German champions Bayern Munich take seventh spot.

The first non football team in the list is the first of six Major League Baseball teams who feature amongst the worlds most valuable and unsurprisingly, its the New York Yankees.

Just the two MLB teams appear in the top 10 of the list with the LA Dodgers making an appearance along side their sporting compatriots from New York.

The first of 30 representatives from the NFL takes the number five spot as the Dallas Cowboys are named the worlds most valuable American Football team.

To complete the top 10, three more NFL teams are ranked as the New England Patriots, Washington Redskins and New York Giants complete the elite ten.

Who else is there?

Well as mentioned, the NFL dominates in terms of number of teams in the list as 30 out of a possible 32 NFL teams make an appearance.

The Oakland Raiders and the Jacksonville Jaguars are the two teams not valuable enough to make the cut.

Valued at $870 million the Buffalo Bills are the least valuable of the NFL teams mentioned in the list while the Cowboys top their sporting counterparts valued at $2.3 billion.

European football has four of their eight representatives in the top 10 with Chelsea, Manchester City and AC Milan sitting at 48, 49 and 50 respectively.

Arsenal are the other football team in the list at 16th with the gunners valued at $1.331 billion.

Four more MLB teams appear in the form of the current World Series holders the Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs and the Philadelphia Phillies complete the MLB offering.

Four NBA teams appear in the form of the New York Knicks, LA Lakers, Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls.

Just the one NHL team is seen in the shape of the Toronto Maple Leafs while Formula one has a single representative with Ferrari.
