The sports world and the entertainment industry can create some very interesting friendships through its connectivity and the unlikely pair of Kevin Durant and Justin Bieber brunching is definitely evidence of this.

The pop star recently posted the picture of himself posing with the NBA's MVP on his official Instagram account on Tuesday.

Its a scenario that no one has really pictured before, Bieber and Durant just meeting up for some brunch, however odd the pairing may seem though, the two are good friends it seems.

Despite his regular activity on the social network site Twitter, Durant is a superstar athlete who usually keeps his personal life to himself, however the magnifying glass of the media world follows Justin Bieber round wherever he goes and he isn't afraid to embrace the spotlight.

An interesting question has been posed by TMZ amongst the midst of this dinner between Bieber and Durant, who in fact paid for the brunch?

According to Forbes Magazine, the Canadian popstar has managed to earn roughly around $60 million last year alone, Bieber's net worth is believed to have been pegged around $130 million.

Whilst Durant is approaching the end of his 5-year $86 million deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, not to mention all the royalties the 25-year old obtains through sponsorships, especially with major companies like Nike and 2k Sports.

With both the pair having never to worry about money, who was the man bold enough to pick up the cheque after they brunched?

Also depicted in the Instagram photo from Biebs is the hat he is wearing, showing strong support for the Brooklyn Nets despite the presence of an Oklahoma City Thunder star.

However Bieber's loyalty to an NBA team is somewhat suspect, often seen matching a franchise to whatever colour his outfit may be that day.
