It has emerged that John Cena could potentially become the newest wrestling superstar to walk out on the WWE in an effort to pursue a movie career in Hollywood.
According to reports from WrestlingInc, there has been a lot of talk about Cena's acting career behind the scenes of the WWE with various wrestlers saying that Cena will have to start "bringing it in by satellite" soon enough.
Cena will be missing multiple WWE shows and events in the near future due to filming for movies. The 37-year old Cena is currently in the process of filming for upcoming releases The Nest, a comedy starring Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph as well as Trainwreck which is another comedy, this time directed by Judd Apatow and featuring Cena with Tilda Swinton, Daniel Radcliffe and LeBron James.
"There have been people backstage speculating that if Cena's movie work takes off, given how banged up he is, he could be the next one to walk away from WWE for a Hollywood career in the next few years."
If Cena does end up leaving for Hollywood, it likely wouldn't be for a few years when his in-ring career winds down, especially since he has previously ripped Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson on several occasions for being a part-timer.
Johnson was one of the most popular stars in the WWE to come out of the famed "Attitude Era," but he left in 2004 to pursue movies full-time and took a seven-year hiatus from the company before returning in 2011 to host WrestleMania XXVII.
Cena is due to face Brock Lesnar at the SummerSlam pay-per-view at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but he is slated to miss another RAW before the event as he did this past week for filming.
The Rock is starring in the upcoming blockbuster "Hercules" and has seen himself become an incredibly in-demand action star, being recruited for several more blockbusters including one that will see him net a staggering $15million dollars just for one film.
