This week’s episode of NXT saw champion Adrian Neville try to overcome Rusev in the main event whilst Charlotte was looking to successfully defend her Women’s Championship against former partner, Summer Rae.

Last week we witnessed Vaudevillians defeating Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore and Sami Zayn defeated Tyson Kidd in the main event. CJ Parker, Sasha Banks and Adam Rose also picked up wins in their respective matches.

This week we started with tag team action once more, as two local talents tried their luck against the NXT Tag Team Champions; The Ascension. No Sami Zayn or Tyson Kidd this week.

As expected it was The Ascension who picked up the dominating win as both Konnor and Viktor continued to impress inside the ring, the crowd reactions to everything also made this match great to watch with The Ascension hitting the fall of mat for the win.

Result: The Ascension

Match Two: Tyler Breeze vs. Mojo Rawley

This was the more surprising outcome, as you’d never believe a match between these two superstars could last around 30 seconds but it did just that, Tyler Breeze connected with a quick Beauty Shot to defeat Mojo Rawley.

We see a recap of the events which took place between Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Summer Raw; their split now resulting in a Women’s Championship match between the former partners.

Match Three: Charlotte © vs. Summer Rae

One of the longer matches of the night and rightfully so as Charlotte put on a fantastic show against Natalya at NXT Takeover in one of the greatest divas in recent years. However the same standard wasn’t met this time round and the fact that the fans started chants such as ‘boring’ didn’t help either.

A couple of close calls to keep the match exciting, but Charlotte connected with her signature ‘bow down to the queen’ after a clothesline to defeat Summer Rae and retain her gold.

More tag team action next, last week the Vaudevillians challenged Kalisto to a match after his partnership with El Local came to an end, and he did find a partner in the form of Sin Cara.

Match Four: Kalisto and Sin Cara vs. The Vaudevillians

As expected an entertaining match with four brilliant in-ring workers, Kalisto is looking a real talent and hopefully he can achieve more success on the main roster than he did in his impressive independent career as Samuray Del Sol. Nevertheless the Vaudevillians are still looking like a fantastic team with great chemistry but they weren’t to overcome Kalisto in this one.

Sin Cara took out Aiden English with an outside dive before Kalisto hit the springboard neck breaker for the victory.

Before the main event we heard from The Ravishing Russian, Lana; with her usual antics on how great Mother Russia is and praising Vladimir Putin.

Main Event: Rusev vs. Adrian Neville

It wasn’t the perfect main event match but it allowed Neville to look like a solid champion again. Rusev was becoming more and more dominant in the match until Tyler Breeze decided to interfere, Neville then got back into it and was going for the win, he even hit his impressive Red Arrow on to Rusev but before he could pin the brute, Breeze decided to knock Adrian Neville out, giving Neville the victory through disqualification.

Result: Adrian Neville defeats Rusev

After the match Rusev hit a massive big boot to Adrian Neville and then locked in the accolade, standing over both Adrian Neville and Tyler Breeze to conclude this week’s episode.
