After winning a second Premier League title in three years, Manchester City now have to fight off a number of top teams to retain their title.

Last season, Liverpool came within an inch of winning the league only for City to spoil their dreams, but it was very close between the two sides.

City have to extend the gap that was between them and their competitors, but with only having spent £18 million on Fernando and Willy Caballero will they have a tough season?

I think not; the squad that they have a far superior to any other in the league. Last season it wasn't one of their star strikers that pulled them through the campaign, but their vice-captain Yaya Toure, scoring 20 goals from midfield.

Although other teams have acquired some very talented players that will no doubt have a positive effect on their teams, City have so much back up in every position. They don't need to buy big this summer in order to make a strong challenge once again.

Last season, one of their new buys Stevan Jovetic missed majority of the season, but in this year's pre-season he has racked up a number of goals so far and promises to feature heavily in City's XI next term.

Sergio Aguero also missed vital parts of last season and was missed, but when he did start he was unplayable and will be a key man for the club in 2014/15. City fans will certainly be excited heading into the new campaign, and their club could be the team to beat once again.
