LeBron James has been the talk of the summer so far. His move from Miami Heat to the Cleveland Cavaliers has gained plenty of attention amongst the media and NBA fans alike.
It has been seen as somewhat of a homecoming for LeBron James, who was originally drafted by the Cavaliers in 2003.
But his return to Cleveland hasn't been as comfortable as he would have liked. LeBron made the move to the Cavs with severe improvements in the make-up of the Eastern Conference team guaranteed.
This rebuilding process for the Cavs has meant LeBron only met his new coach for the 2014-15 NBA season this week.
That meeting happened on Tuesday, after new coach David Blatt had only managed to have text communication since LeBron's return was announced last month.
"James met face to face with team owner Dan Gilbert before announcing his free-agent choice and had communicated with Blatt by text since signing. Blatt saw a thinner James at their meeting," ESPN reported.
There is no wonder that LeBron James hasn't met up with his new coach really, when you consider the busy summer that the four-time NBA MVP has had so far.
But Blatt is not the only part of the Cavaliers make up that LeBron hasn't met. Because of their shocking 2013-14 season, the Cavs made it into the NBA lottery, which they ended up winning. First overall pick Andrew Wiggins became their winnings, but it seems now that Wiggins is just a piece of bait for the Minnesota Timberwolves to bite on so that they will trade superstar baller Kevin Love to the Cavs.
Wiggins has signed a contract with the Cavaliers, but those terms stop the Cavs from trading the former Kansas player right away. From the date of the signing, the Cavs have to wait 30 days, and as a result a deal for Kevin Love is due to be finalized on either August 23 or 24th, according to reports.
Despite having been on the books of the Cavs for almost a month now, LeBron James has still not spoken with Andrew Wiggins. This has left Wiggins somewhat disillusioned with the Cavs. As the clip below shows.
But LeBron James is not busy enough to meet other stars, with new Cavaliers signing Mike Miller hanging out with LeBron on the day of his Cavs announcement.
Now we know that Miller and LeBron are good friends. LeBron's latest Instagram comments confirm as much. But this meeting must just make Wiggins feel even worse.
It's a shame that such a talented player is being treated so shabbily by his franchise. LeBron's latest meetings and the lack of contact with Wiggins confirm the departure of the former Kansas player in this writer's opinion, and reports suggest that later this month Wiggins will finally be free.
Whether Cleveland will regret the way they have treated Andrew Wiggins remains to be seen.
