England could host Euro 2020 semi finals and final

The BBC are reporting that England could end up hosting the Euro 2020 semi finals and final.

This is said to be due to the German Football Association considering dropping their bid to host the games to boos their chances of hosting the next tournament after that in 2024.

Germany attempt to boost 2024 chances

Munich are apparently only bidding to host the group stages of the 2020 tournament to boost their chances of getting the 2024 tournament.

Germany are likely to face main opposition from Turkey in their bid to host the 2024 finals.

German Football Association president Wolfgang Niersbach has said that Germany's decision is "open" and that they have a "an excellent relationship with the FA and we are thinking about how we can support the other association." 

Vote scheduled for September

Due to the 202 finals being the 60 anniversary of the European Championships, the tournament will be held in 13 countries on the continent.

The executive committee of EUEFA will vote on which cities get to host Euro 2020 on September 19.

A total of 19 cities including Dublin, Cardiff and Glasgow have bid to host the early stages of the tournament.
