The World Cup has only just finished, now attention switches to the 2014/15 season. After a superb World Cup in the South American football home, Brazil, it is time for players and fans to return to their original Saturday afternoons.

This season, the Barclays Premier League has the prospect to be another thrilling ten months, as Manchester City aim to win the league for the third time in four years.

However, Manuel Pellegrini’s men won’t have it easy, with Chelsea and Arsenal both expecting to push them all the way after signing big names, such as Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez.

After a miserable season under David Moyes, Manchester United will be hoping for a bright and positive season under Louis Van Gaal, while Liverpool look to begin life without top player Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan star left Anfield for Barcelona.

Tottenham, Southampton and West Brom begin the campaign under new management, while QPR, Burnley and Leicester City all begin life in the Premier League once again.

Everton will be looking for another successful season under Roberto Martinez, while Crystal Palace and Tony Pulis will be hoping for a matching season to last.

Hull City will be competeting in Europe for the first time in their history under Steve Bruce after losing 3-2 to Arsenal in an entertaining FA Cup final.

Last season strugglers Aston Villa, Sunderland, Stoke and Swansea City have all recruited this summer. With Joe Cole joining Villa, Costel Pantilimon joining Sunderland and Bafetimbi Gomis signing for Swansea.
