Javier Hernandez close to Juventus transfer

Arturo Vidal is closing in on a Manchester United transfer with Javier Hernandez heading in the other direction.

According to the Daily Express, reports in Italy claim Hernandez is on the cusp of finalising his move from Old Trafford to Turin. The £15m-rated (€20m) Mexican international wants first-team football, something he's unlikely to get under Louis Van Gaal, who plans to favour Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney.

No player swap

While not part of a cash-plus-player deal for the £45m-rated (€50m) Vidal, it's believed United and Juventus are using the Hernandez transfer to thrash out some of the details behind the Chilean's eventual move.

No player swap will take place, but the channels of communication opened in the dialogue between the two clubs reportedly makes it more likely that Vidal will join United before the September 2 transfer deadline.

Big money addition

Louis Van Gaal is doing everything possible to reinforce his squad ahead of the new season, and mentioned Angel Di Maria - another United transfer target - by name for the first time earlier this weekend.

He is unhappy with the imbalance in the squad, and admitted he could be in the market for a big-money acquisition before the window shuts. In all probability, that would likely mean a move either for Di Maria or Vidal. Fiorentina's Juan Cuadrado is the other target.
