Jon Jones suffers injury that will delay Daniel Cormier-fight till 2015

Jon 'Bones' Jones has suffered a leg injury in training camp that will unfortunately delay his upcoming bout with Daniel Cormier, it is expected that the fight will be rescheduled for some time in 2015.

Just as the UFC world was whetting their appetite for the much anticipated clash between Jones and Cormier, the current light heavyweight champion has suffered an injury that will forcefully delay the contest.

The pair had already ignited a fierce rivalry in the weeks leading up to their fight and had even got into a brawl with one another during a UFC media event in Las Vegas.

All of the media tours and trash talk had been established, there was only one customary left to be fulfilled, the challenge of Cormier to Jones. Now due to the leg injury to the champion, the most anticipated fight of 2014 will no longer happen this year.

However don't worry too much UFC fans, Jones and Cormier will still do battle, but now the fighters will face off on January 3 at an event tentatively scheduled to be UFC 182.

The news of the delayed fight between Jones and Cormier was covered by FOX Sports 1 on America's Pre Game.

The biggest star of the UFC has now unfortunately had his future fight plans derailed through injury and it is sure to have an impact on the rest of the sport. 

Injuries continue to plague the sport as it competes with other top sports industries, its main competitors coming with Boxing and the WWE.
