Current TNA superstar Kurt Angle is looking to pitch an idea to WWE that would see him make a return to the company as a part-time superstar.
The former World Heavyweight Champion had a lot of success in WWE which saw him main-event numerous Wrestlemania's, including his last Wrestlemania in 2006 where he dropped the title to Rey Mysterio before leaving WWE to join rivals TNA.
The Olympic gold medallist stated his reason for leaving was much like CM Punk's that he was working hurt and couldn't get time off from the company. He said that back then WWE had lost one of their top talents because he was at the top of the payroll.
Whether or not he will gain the same deal with a return and WWE's current financial situation still remains to be seen, but the wrestling machine seems to be looking for a contract along the lines of Shawn Michaels, where he performs at limited dates and big pay-per-views.
As of yet, WWE are yet to show any interest in their former superstar and word coming out of the company is said to be negative regarding the semi-retired superstar.
Angle has said to have wanted to return to WWE in the past, during the eight years that he has been a part of TNA but Vince McMahon has not been to keen on welcoming him back.
Given TNA's recent problems with their TV contract, attendances at house shows and having to cancel some of their live events next month, many fans could understand why Angle would be looking for a way out, and why he would head back to the place he first found fame.
Boosted by return
WWE could be boosted by his return with Daniel Bryan still out injured and John Cena/Randy Orton getting very old, very fast. Kurt could be decent competition to bring up Roman Reigns and also to have a match with Lesnar which would be a decent match to main event any pay-per-view.
It's whether or not Kurt would take a cut in the amount of wages he used to have and whether or not WWE sees him as marketable anymore, but who can blame Kurt for wanting to come back to WWE with their new Network and the biggest party of the Summer on the horizon but it seems the company are not taking his hints and the former main eventer could be left at TNA for a while longer.
