The future of Real Madrid star Sami Khedira could become more clearer this evening, according to The Daily Star.

This has been reported by the Daily Star, who have suggested that the World Cup winner could refuse to play against Italian outfit Fiorentina, amid interest from Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea.

It appears, then, that the German star could be on his way out of the Bernabeu before the close of this transfer window. The same report has suggested that the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea could now land him for £8 million this summer, with the German entering the final year of his contract at the Bernabeu.

Real boss Carlo Ancelotti recently signed ex-Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos in this market and many are expecting him to partner Luka Modric in the middle of the park for the 2014/15 campaign.

Who needs him?

It remains to be seen as to whether either of the London clubs step up in their pursuit of the defensive-midfielder, but he would certainly improve both clubs' options. Arsenal are in need of a tough tackling midfielder to play alongside the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Co.

Chelsea, on the other hand, already have the likes of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas, but could do with someone of the stature of Khedira. Blues fans will be hoping Jose Mourinho is reunited with his former player in the near future.
