SummerSlam came to us live from The Staples Centre in Los Angeles and the kick off show boasted Rob Van Dam v Cesaro.

Rob Van Dam v Cesaro

The two former Paul Heyman guys clashed in a match that was only announced a day before the actual show, the match itself was solid from both men but predictably Rob Van Dam got the win following a five star frog splash as Cesaro's decline through WWE continued.


Hulk Hogan kicked off SummerSlam telling the WWE Universe about the significance of the biggest party of the summer and the impact it has on many superstars careers. 

The Miz v Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship)

Miz took the momentum in the opening stages as Miz hit a nasty kick to the face for a near fall. Dolph swung the advantage into his favour with a counter clothesline before a neck breaker for a two count. 

Miz went for the Skull Crushing Finale but Dolph countered and hit a heel kick to the jaw for another two count before Miz crawled to the outside and picked up his title but Dolph slid and kicked him through the ropes and Miz rolled back in the ring and locked in the figure four.

Dolph made it to the bottom rope and hit the famouser before Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale for another near fall, before Dolph jumped up and hit the ZigZag for the win.

Winner and new Intercontinental Champion: Dolph Ziggler

BACKSTAGE: Brie talked about her time in her cell and how she kept thinking about Stephanie and the way she treated Nikki and Daniel Bryan. She said she isn't letting this chance slip through her fingers and she is going to take out that She Beast because that's what's best for business.

AJ Lee v Paige (Divas Championship)

Paige tried to shake AJ's hand to start the match but AJ decided to bite Paige's hand instead. Paige then caught AJ on the outside and bounced her rib first off the barricade before rolling her back into the ring and delivered the head-butts to her. 

AJ then took Paige down on the outside with a clothesline from the top rope and rolled her back into the ring and kicked her in the face for a near fall. 

Paige went for the Paige Turner and AJ reversed into the Black Widow before Paige hit the RamPaige for the win.

Winner and new Divas Champion: Paige

After the match Paige kissed AJ on the cheek and skipped out of the ring.

Rusev v Jack Swagger (Flag Match)

Before the match Lana dedicated the match to Vladimir Putin, before she was interrupted by American forces who welcomed Jack Swagger with the American flag. 

Rusev knocked Swagger down to start the match and Swagger locked in the Patriot match before the bell even rang, It finally rang out and Swagger went straight after Rusev knocking him from the ring. 

Rusev fought back with knees to the mid-section in the corner and stomps on Swaggers ribs before Rusev tried to wear Swagger down with a variation of a bear hug but Swagger fought out.

Swagger hit the Swagger Bomb for a near fall before Rusev went for his kick to the face but Swagger tried to lock in the Patriot Lock but Rusev reversed and hit his kick before trying to lock in the Accolade but he couldn't lock it in fully and Swagger powered out and locked in the Patriot Lock but Rusev rolled onto his back and reversed it. 

Rusev then locked in the Accolade but Swagger refused to tap and instead passed out and Rusev was awarded the win.

Winner via KO - Rusev

After the match and per the rules of a flag match the Russian national anthem was played.

Dean Ambrose v Seth Rollins - Lumberjack Match 

Dean went straight after Seth in the opening exchanges whipping Seth out of the ring, only for him to be thrown back in buy the human wall. 

Dean then locked in a submission manoeuvre before Seth reversed and landed a kick to the mid-section knocking him out of the ring, where he took out Fandango.

Seth then hit a body slam before Dean landed punches to Seth's face and went for a moonsault, but Seth reversed and knocked Dean down. Seth then tried to suplex Dean into the ring but Dean suplexed him out on top of the lumberjacks where he head-butted the announce table.

Dean then threw Seth over the barricade before the lumberjacks threw Dean back into the ring and Dean took out the Lumberjacks and ran across the announce table and took out Seth. Rollins tried to run into the crowd and the fight happened in the audience before Kane came out to send the Lumberjacks after them.

Seth tried to throw Dean off the lifted area before the lumberjacks moved them and sent both Seth and Dean back into the ring.  Dean climbed onto the top rope and floored Seth and all the lumberjacks and went for Dirty Deeds but Seth reversed and hit his unique clothesline for a near fall.

Dean then delivered the curb stomp on Rollins before Kane broke up the three count, Goldust hit Kane and a mass brawl ensued, Seth then  hit Dean with the briefcase behind the referee's back for the win. 

Winner: Seth Rollins

Chris Jericho v Bray Wyatt

Bray took it to Jericho to start the match out, as the fight boiled over to the outside and Wyatt bounced Jericho off the steel steps. 

Jericho fought back only for Bray to land his leap onto Jericho's midsection, every time Jericho mounted any offence Bray seemed to swat him back down and went for Sister Abigail but Jericho reversed into the Walls of Jericho but Bray grabbed the ropes and hit a DDT off the apron. 

Bray then did his matrix type taunt and Jericho hit the Codebreaker for a two count, The fight again ended up outside and Bray hit Sister Abigail off the barricade. Before rolling Chris back into the ring and hitting Sister Abigail again for the win.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

After the match Bray sang "He's got the whole world in his hands" to the crowd. 

Stephanie McMahon v Brie Bella

Stephanie looked just as comfortable in the ring despite not wrestling for over a decade, Steph went to slap Brie but she blocked it and went for the Yes Lock, but Steph rolled out of the ring. 

Brie tried to fly out of the ring after her but Steph knocked her down and rolled back into the ring, Steph then hit a DDT for a two count before she stood on Brie's face. 

Brie then kicked Steph in the face numerous times before she hit a Lou Therez press and reigned down punches on her. Brie then bounced her off the turnbuckle and got a hair pull slam on her boss.

Brie hit a missile drop kick for a near fall, Triple H then caused the distraction and Steph went for the Pedigree but Brie locked in the Yes Lock and Triple H pulled the referee out of the ring. Brie then knocked Triple H to the ground and Nikki got in the ring and the twin surrounded Stephanie but Nikki turned on Brie.

Stephanie then hit the Pedigree for the win. 

Winner: Stephanie McMahon

After the match Triple H and Stephanie celebrated in the ring.

Randy Orton v Roman Reigns

Both men were sporting new ring attire for what was thought to be a physical encounter between the two. Randy looked the better in the opening stages as he stamped on Roman's fingers before hitting a superplex.

Roman hit his kick from the outside but Randy threw Roman into the steel post, before throwing him into the announce table and the steel steps. 

Roman hit a Samoan Drop from the top rope followed by a Superman Punch and went for a spear but Orton countered into a power-slam and hit his DDT through the middle rope. Randy then hit the RKO and Roman shockingly kicked out at two.

Randy then went for the punt kick but Roman dodged into a thunderous spear for the win. 

Winner: Roman Reigns

John Cena v Brock Lesnar - (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

It was promoted as the biggest fight of the Summer as the two heavyweights collided in the main event of this years SummerSlam. 

Seconds into the match Brock managed to hit the F5 for a near fall. Lesnar then hit a suplex before Cena attempted to fight back but Brock ended every rush of momentum Cena had and stood on Cena's fingers.

Brock then hit three belly to back suplex's for another two count, before following it up with another two belly to back. Cena fought back with elbows and Lesnar went for the F5 but Cena hit the AA. 

Lesnar then hit four German Suplex's to Cena to leave him looking lifeless in the ring, before following it up with another three suplex's.

Cena then locked in the STF before Lesnar reversed and delivered the F5 for the win.

Winner and new WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Brock Lesnar

Lesnar and Heyman walked away holding the titles as SummerSlam went off the air.
