WWE had yet another pay-per-view without former superstar CM Punk on Sunday, but that doesn't mean the former champion was old news this weekend.
Even when WWE fans had their eyes firmly fixed on SummerSlam, CM Punk managed to keep himself in the news amongst wrestling fans.
This weekend news spread across the internet questioning whether CM Punk had been arrested. And in a tweet on his personal account on Monday, he answered them.
"“@thatnigga_juju: @CMPunk why everyone saying u was arrested ?” Because I totally got arrested."
That was CM Punk answering a tweet today relating to his arrest rumors that have taken over the internet.
Now we know that CM Punk is a well known joker. He is often sarcastic about a lot of things, but his own arrest would surely not be one of those instances?
It most likely is just him joking around, but if it's true it completes an already crazy year for the former superstar.
'CM Punk arrested' is currently a top trend on social media. Some reports have suggested that the initial rumors may have simply been created by trolls on the internet.
It's quite likely that CM Punk was just responding to some insane trolling on the internet, as this report states could have happened.
Crazy 2014 already
But all we know is that there were rumors and he confirmed them.
Of course we all know the CM Punk story by now. He was one of the most popular and beloved wrestlers in WWE before he decided to leave the company after a dispute.
It's understood that CM Punk was unhappy with his treatment with regard to pay-per-view events.
Some reports suggest that he was not happy with being bumped off the top of headline events such as WrestleMania, where part-time wrestlers The Rock and Hulk Hogan have taken centre stage in the last few years.
But even though WWE's latest pay-per-view SummerSlam took the limelight on Sunday, it's quite likely that this week will become filled with CM Punk news again.
That's obviously if his arrest actually happened…
