Brock Lesnar could be champion for years

If Brock Lesnar is Frankenstein, Vince McMahon and Triple H are his creators. He is a beast that cannot be stopped.

The SummerSlam main event saw Lesnar decimate John Cena, he destroyed him, and as such he is now our WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

The only problem?

There is no one in the WWE who can legitimately challenge him.

The main event was a massive let down, as it was effectively Cena jobbing out to the Beast, his offence looked weak and for the first time in nearly a decade he looked helpless in defeat.

It's a huge problem as for the last ten years, John Cena has been portrayed as Superman, he overcomes any challenges and any odds.

No fight

Last night he didn't put up a fight.

We can't forget that he ended the Undertakers streak at WrestleMania as well. He has this momentum behind him still.

So now who does the WWE turn to?

There number one face was just destroyed, the Undertaker (although it was highly unlikely) will never get the shot, and Daniel Bryan is injured.

Bryan would have been an interesting choice, he is a similar wrestler to the late great Eddie Guerrero, and he defeated Lesnar in his first run with the WWE.

But his size would do him no favours against a man of Lesnars' stature, he's also been verbally buried by Triple H and Stephanie in his absence, it's unlikely he will get the chance to run with the title again.

Roman Reigns has been touted as the one to take the strap from Lesnar, potentially at WrestleMania next year, but after last night it's just madness.

He looked horribly exposed out there by himself, as many people predicted, the crowd was dead for large parts of the match as Orton carried him.

Quite simply he doesn't have any real offence, sure he has the Superman Punch and an awesome Spear, but nothing else. He can't just keep spearing his way to WrestleMania.

It will take a couple of years before he is ready to take the title from Lesnar, how can the justify giving him the title before then.

A potential challenger in Randy Orton was dismissed last night, he does have offence that looks legit, but if he can't beat a green superstar why should the fans think he can beat the Beast incarnate?

Seth Rollins has struggled to beat Dean Ambrose by himself, that briefcase will make a nice accessory, but it won't reap the ultimate award.

So with every likely challenger left in the WWE having no real chance, perhaps they will turn to those not with the company?

Batista is due back on TV very soon, and after his massive success in Guardians of the Galaxy, we could see him return as a face to go after the title.

But wait, he has also just lost cleanly to the Shield - in particular Roman Reigns - if he can't beat him, what chance does he possibly have against Lesnar?

The Rock

That leaves one viable option, and if Vince McMahon has it his way it will be what we see, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Vince is desperate for the Rock to return for a massive WrestleMania showdown, but his status is up in the air, with movie commitments taking centre stage in April.

All in all, it all comes down to poor long-term booking from the WWE Creative team, that stems back nearly a decade.

Apart from Cena, and to a lesser extent Orton, no other wrestler has been build up enough to challenge Lesnar with a serious chance of winning.

Here's hoping Vince has opened that cheque book and signed Brock to a long contract extension.
