Venues for WWE events sell out in no-time and become packed with members of the WWE universe. Signs and chants show the thoughts of the fans towards superstars. In this article, I will reveal the five most popular active WWE superstars.
5. Jack Swagger
Jack Swagger had been a heel since arriving in WWE in 2008, until the Bulgarian Brute Rusev arrived on the scene. The fitting feud between the Real American and the man now residing in Russia has brought WWE fans on his side, shouting Swagger's catchphrase, 'WE THE PEOPLE'. This makes a change to the usual booing he must be used to.
Eventually the feud between Swagger and Rusev will fizzle out, and when that happens, I expect him to become a heel once again, possibly turning his attention back to the United States Championship currently held by Sheamus.
4. Roman Reigns
The former juggernaut of the Shield, Roman Reigns has become a crowd favourite since they went head-to-head against the Authority and Evolution but has come off the worst from their dramatic break-up.
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have both boosted their reputations with new music and new looks and continue to have one of the best feuds currently in WWE, whereas Reigns has continued to use the Shield theme, albeit slightly modified, and has kept the soldier like ring gear, making me wonder if without the mic skills of Rollins and Ambrose, Reigns can keep his place as one of the top stars.
If Reigns can improve his mic skills and develop some new moves, as well as the the Superman Punch, Samoan Drop, the running kick performed outside the ring, and obviously the spear, he could go a long way.
3. John Cena
When the 15-time WWE Champion first appeared to confront Kurt Angle in 2002, nobody would have thought he would become the big star he is now. Cena immediately became a fan favourite and despite some poor images such as the attempt at rapping, he remains one of the, if not the biggest star in WWE.
Cena normally gets booed, mostly by fans jumping on the bandwagon of hating him, but he is still one of the most popular in the business, and with WWE always keeping him in big feuds, it's hard to see that changing.
2 .Dean Ambrose
Dean Ambrose was one-third of the destructive Shield, alongside number four in this list, Roman Reigns. Ambrose has benefited from the group's split and has continued his feud with Rollins.
He has a new look and attitude, portraying him as a 'lunatic fringe'. The new look has seen him become one of the biggest fan favourites on the roster. Although it seems unlikely that he will rise to the heights of Stars like Cena and Randy Orton, I sincerely hope he does, and goes a long way in the company.
1. Daniel Bryan
Unsurprisingly at number one is former WWE world heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan. Bryan has been liked and disliked by fans, as well as becoming a laughing stock after his 18-second defeat versus Sheamus at Wrestlemania 28.
During this time, fans began to chant 'YES!'. Support grew from then on until John Cena selected Bryan to become his opponent at Summerslam in the WWE championship contest. This was where the ongoing feud between Bryan and the Authority started after he was attacked by Triple H, ending his short reign as champion.
Bryan's quest to become WWE world heavyweight champion came to a successful end after he won the main event at Wrestlemania once again. Bryan was forced to vacate the title through injury, however.
Bryan has only appeared in WWE for interviews since, and you can't help but wonder if the mass support will still be there when he comes back. During his absence, Bryan's wife, Brie Bella, has filled his role as opponent to the authority, and despite his absence, chants of 'YES!' still ring out during Brie's appearances, and we can assume Bryan will be given a shot at the championship when he returns.
