It was an explosive night on Smackdown as many of the big name stars made appearances on the Friday night spectacular.

Perhaps the biggest night came from the Viper Randy Orton who was back to his old malicious self starting the show with some strong words for Roman Reigns.

After ensuring the WWE Universe that it wasn't over between him and Reigns, he revealed that he would be taking on Rob Van Dam later in the night, but before the match began, he would attack RVD from behind in an interview segment.

Orton was never interested in the match, but clearly just wanted to hurt RVD as much as possible, which he more than achieved with this assault.

It wouldn't be the only time we would see Orton tonight though as he would make an appearance during Roman Reigns clash with the Miz.

Roman repelled the Viper tonight but this feud is clearly not going anywhere anytime soon and if the next battle between these two is half as intense, it will be something not to be missed.

The battle over the Divas championship became more heated tonight as once again the champion Paige was set to take on Natalya but there was a special guest at ringside.

After demolishing Dean Ambrose on Monday night, Seth Rollins took on Jack Swagger who was trying to shake off a two match losing streak.

It didn't work out for him as he lost via count-out after Rollins delivered a curb stomp as he tried to climb back into the ring.

Everyone's favourite Russian had yet another dominant performance as he destroyed Sin Cara, after the match he was confronted by Mark Henry who showed no hesitation.

Rusev left the ring the second the World's Strongest Man entered and slowly retreated ensuring that when these two heavyweights finally clash, it should be some match.

Stardust and Goldust were live in person again as they defeated Erick Rowan and Luke Harper in a very hard fought victory.

It didn't prove beneficial though as they received a severe beating after the bell was rung.
