Bray Wyatt set for feud with Sheamus

Football News

As it stands both Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt have a win a piece under their belts in their current feud. The rubber match is expected to take place on September 21 at the Night of Champions pay-per-view.

Chris Jericho is on his way out

We know that Chris Jericho is always brought back to put over young talent and this run will see Chris Jericho go over to Bray Wyatt as he is written off WWE television once more.

Although that bout is not yet confirmed, it is expected that it will happen and that Jericho will be losing to Wyatt to go on tour with his band, Fozzy.

As expected plans are already being made for Bray Wyatt’s next feud.

Original plans

The original plans were pointing towards a Bray Wyatt and Big Show feud; Big Show was teaming with Mark Henry as they defeated the team of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper numerous times and it was believed that this would inevitably lead into a Bray Wyatt and Big Show programme; however that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

Based on the way the WWE live events are being booked over the next couple of months, Bray Wyatt and current United States Champion Sheamus are booked to compete at a slew of upcoming events.

This means the two will get familiar with each others' styles at these events before the real action and feud is saved for the Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown and the pay-per-view rings.

The live events will signal a United States Championship feud between Wyatt and Sheamus. Sheamus has recently returned to TV after it was revealed he was suffering from a severe case of the flu; before reports started to emerge that The Celtic Warrior could have been abroad, portraying Darth Vader in the upcoming Star Wars film, but that has not yet been confirmed.

Sheamus hasn’t been the greatest of champions over the last few months, he has been used sporadically with numerous face superstars but the WWE have decided it is time to put Sheamus in a singles feud once more where the championship will be up for grabs.

Better options

I don’t think Bray Wyatt needs the United States Championship; in fact other than the WWE World Heavyweight Championship down the line; he doesn’t need gold at all.

The prestige for the United States Championship has declined and this means Bray Wyatt will be stepping down towards a more mid-card level if he takes on Sheamus and after a very disappointing feud with Chris Jericho; Bray Wyatt needs a bigger feud to continue from the massive success he had with John Cena.

As for Sheamus, there are other better options available for him and the United States Championship. Cesaro has been a name which was popped up time and time again and he works well with Sheamus inside the ring but the most popular opponent which looks like it won’t be happening is Rusev, with so much heat on him and Lana that would have been perfect right now.
