Tottenham are considering a bid for Paris Saint-Germain starlet Adrien Rabiot, and could rival Chelsea and Arsenal for the highly-rated midfielder's services this summer.
The Daily Express cites a report in French publication L'Equipe which suggests that the 19-year-old might now move to White Hart Lane after Spurs seemingly joined the race to secure his signature.
Rabiot is one of the hottest properties in Europe at the moment and impressed during his 34 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions in 2013/14. Laurent Blanc was hoping to keep the talented teenager at Parc des Princes, but now appears resigned to losing him before the transfer deadline.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a confirmed admirer of the PSG star, and has weighed up an offer of his own to lure the player to the Emirates Stadium. However, given his wealth of midfield options the youngster would not be guaranteed regular first-team action, and that's the reason why Arsenal have not made a bid.
Jose Mourinho has also been keeping tabs on Rabiot's development in the French capital, but is yet to firm up his alleged interest in taking the teenager to Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino is ready to steal a march on the Chelsea manager, after dramatically declaring interest in the wonderkid so late in the transfer window, and remains hopeful of negotiating a deal with PSG before the September 1 deadline.
Rabiot's valuation has seemingly plummeted in recent weeks - despite his impressive form - after PSG dropped their asking price to £9.5 million for a player that was rated at £24 million earlier this summer.
The fact his current contract has less than 12 months to run is believed to be the main reason for the swift decline of his price-tag, after it emerged Rabiot has no intention to pen renewed terms with the club that gave him his chance in professional football.
Bright young talent
Making his senior breakthrough at the age of 17 in 2012, he's still yet to fully establish himself in Blanc's side due to the stiff competition for places in the squad.
Rabiot was restricted to just 12 starts during PSG's title winning campaign last term, and that is perhaps the reason why he fancies a new challenge at a different club.
