WWE: The Usos set for Night Of Champions showdown

Football News

Last night on Raw the WWE Universe saw the tag team titles were put on the line as The Usos defended against Stardust and Goldust.

It seemed that towards the end of the match Jey Uso was selling a knee injury and couldn't make it into the ring in time to beat the ten count and so he and his brother were counted out, but still retained their titles.

The Usos were supposed to defend their titles at Summerslam in a fatal four way but that match never happened despite many rumours leading people to think it would happen on the kick off show but instead Rob Van Dam faced Cesaro.

Titles on the Line

Night of Champions is a little different though, every WWE title has to be on the line and this means that The Usos will be forced to defend their titles, whether it be against Stardust and Goldust in a tag team match or if WWE decide to spice it up a little more they could make another fatal four way with Curtis Axel and Ryback as well as Luke Harper and Erik Rowan joining the fun.

At least the titles were defended last night and The Usos finally gained some air time because leading up to Summerslam the tag titles were not on the list of things WWE wanted to build up which leads many into believing that Night of Champions could be where the brothers finally lose their titles.

2nd Announcement

This would only be the second match announced for Night of Champions which is a little under a month away, after John Cena decided to activate his rematch clause on Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and Triple H announced this as the main event for next months pay-per-view.

Obviously other matches are in the pipeline such as AJ Lee v Paige for the Divas Championship as AJ looks set to cash in her rematch clause and hopefully become a three time divas champion and it looks like Bray Wyatt could be facing off against Chris Jericho for the third and final time as Y2J bows out on September 21st to go back on tour with Fozzy.

There are other matches that could also be made a part of Night of Champions like Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns or the Authority against a returning Daniel Bryan could also happen. But as of right now, this is all still speculation.
