This week on NXT the Tag Team Championship tournament continued with Enzo Amore and Big Cass in action, whilst Tyson Kidd went one on one with Tyler Breeze after his interruption cost Breeze a title win last week.

Last week we saw the remainder of the first round matches of the tag team championship tournament where The Vaudevillians defeated Mojo Rawley and Bull Dempsey whilst Kalisto and Sin Cara also picked up a victory.

Adrian Neville retained his NXT Championship and Bayley was crowned the number one contender to the NXT Women’s Championship after defeating Sasha Banks on a night where CJ Parker defeated Xavier Woods.

We already know who the winners of the tournament are, the Divas Championship match as well as the main event for NXT Takeover II will be. This is because NXT is always pre-taped weeks in advance, however no spoilers for future shows or events will be posted until the event itself takes place.

This week kicked off with a big tag team match which the fans were looking forward to as Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady took on The Vaudevillians.

Match One (NXT Tag Team Championship Tournament): Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady vs. The Vaudevillians

A lot of potential for this match and as always with these four men we were guaranteed entertainment. Fast-paced action right from the off and it’s a shame the match lasted less than two minutes as Simon Gotch hit ‘That’s A Wrap’ on Enzo Amore for the victory to send The Vaudevillians to the finals.

Result: The Vaudevillians defeat Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

After the match The Legionnaires come down to the ring and attack Big Cass before they surprised the fans by shaving off half of Enzo Amore’s beard.

Triple H then made a special appearance on NXT as he told the fans he has an announcement, he talked about the importance of NXT and what impact it is having on the WWE and how important it is to the WWE Network and says it is time for NXT to take over once more.

September 11 will be the date where NXT Takeover II will take place and all of the championships will be on the line, whilst also announcing that a new NXT General Manager will be named next week.

We are shown a recap from the main event last week, how Tyson Kidd cost Tyler Breeze the chance to capture the NXT Championship and tonight they are up against each other. Tyler Breeze is livid backstage and tells the fans that Tyson Kidd will find out why Prince Pretty is more than just a pretty face.

Match Two: Tyler Breeze vs. Tyson Kidd

Another short match but an aggressive looking Tyler Breeze this week but Tyson Kidd was looking impressive as always. Some good back and forth action until Tyler Breeze escaped the Sharpshooter and the ring as he was counted out. He told Kidd he was fine with the outcome as he is focusing on the NXT Championship match at Takeover II.

Result: Tyson Kidd defeats Tyler Breeze

Match Three: Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte

The second longest match of the night saw NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte taking on Becky Lynch in a very good match. Becky Lynch put up a good fight but it was the champion who picked up the win after hitting her signature ‘Bow down to the Queen’; expect Becky Lynch to be in the title picture soon.

Result: Charlotte defeats Becky Lynch

Enzo Amore and Big Cass were out again, making numerous Star Wars reference before officially challenging The Legionnaires to a match at Takeover II; with the stipulation being a hair vs. hair match; and if they decline they must be ‘S-A-W-F-T’.

Match Four: Mojo Rawley vs. Steve Cutler

We see a recap of Bull Dempsey attacking Mojo Rawley after their loss last week and Rawley responded in great fashion, a squash match after hitting a number of splashes followed up by the Hyperdrive for the victory. After the match he told Bull Dempsey he is still standing and can everything he throws his way.

Result: Mojo Rawley defeats Steve Cutler

Main Event (NXT Tag Team Championship Tournament): Adam Rose and Sami Zayn vs. Sin Cara and Kalisto

Saving the best till last, the second semi-final match in a back and forth match-up which saw some impressive manoeuvres from all four men. Towards the end the match was all over the place and it looked as if Sami Zayn was going to win it for his team; but he walked into the ‘Sitout Sliced Bread’ before being hit with the Swanton Bomb by Sin Cara as he and Kalisto advance to the finals where they will take on The Vaudevillians.

Result: Sin Cara and Kalisto defeat Adam Rose and Sami Zayn

Next week we see the final between The Vaudevillians and Kalisto and Sin Cara; a new NXT manager will be instated whilst we find out more about the future of the NXT Championship.
