Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has admitted that he expects big changes at the club after this weekend.

This has been reported by the Manchester Evening News, who have suggested that a number of players could be on their way out of Old Trafford before next week's transfer deadline.

The likes of Anderson, Javier Hernandez, Shinji Kagawa, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck have all been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, while youngster Wilfried Zaha left the club on loan to Crystal Palace earlier today.

As well as allowing players to leave the club, it appears that the Dutch boss could still add to his squad in the coming days. United have already spent £130 million on Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo and Angel Di Maria, but it now appears that more additions could be on the way.

Van Gaal said: "I cannot say anything about that because it raises the price.

"The club shall come when the time is there to announce it.

"We cannot react on every rumour. Also players shall go in the meantime.

"I had a conversation after lunch with the players and I said, maybe after this weekend we shall have another group because players shall go away and others shall come in."

In need?

Manchester United fans will certainly be hoping that Van Gaal further adds to his squad after this weekend's Premier League clash. The Red Devils have endured a nightmare start to the season, having only secured one point from their opening two league fixtures, and suffering Capital One Cup humiliation at the hands of MK Dons.

Following the arrival of Angel di Maria from Real Madrid, the Red Devils have an array of talent in their front line, with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Robin van Persie, Adnan Januzaj and Co. plying their trade at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils do, however, have troubles in the middle of the park and in their back-line. A number of United's central-midfielder have struggled for consistency over the past year, with the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Tom Cleverley and Co. failing to impress.

At the back, meanwhile, the club lost experienced trio Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, and have looked vulnerable in defence in recent weeks. United fans will certainly be hoping that the club sign at least one more defender and midfielder as they go in search of major improvement.
