Tom Carroll

Made his debut for Swansea, playing the full 90 minutes as the Swans beat Rotherham 1-0 to advance to the third round.

The playmaker showed good ability on the ball and despite tiring as the match went on, he never shied away from the ball and will hope to make the match day squad for Swansea's match versus West Brom.

Jordan Archer

Also made his debut for his temporary club, Northampton Town, and kept the scoreline down to 3-0 as the League Two side were trounced by Championship Bournemouth.

The cup defeat will be a blow to Archer's match opportunities as he struggles to dislodge current Cobblers No.1 Matt Duke.

Grant Hall

Finally, Grant Hall was able to test himself against Premier League opposition as his Birmingham side hosted former Spur Gus Poyet's Sunderland side.

The Blues contained Sunderland for the majority of the match but in the end the visitor's superior class told as the away side scored three times in the final thirteen minutes to put Lee Clark's men out of the competition.
