The Chelsea manager can reflect on a summer of good business, both in terms of incomings and outgoings, while his side are top of the Premier League having recorded victories in each of their opening three Premier League fixtures.

Chelsea were able to sell two players deemed surplus to requirements in David Luiz and Romelu Lukaku for around £78 million, resulting in a minimal net spend despite the acquisitions of some supreme talents.

Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, Felipe Luis and Loic Remy have all arrived at Stamford Bridge, ensuring Chelsea are the clear favourites to clinch the league title this season.

But while they have real strength in depth this term, there are still a few areas that could have been reinforced this summer. Here are three signings that would have been ideal on deadline day…
