AC Milan in talks over Suso loan

Liverpool are in deadline day discussions with AC Milan over a loan deal for Suso.

The Daily Express cites reports in Italy when claiming that the Serie ‘A’ giants are in the final stages of negotiations with the Reds over the player.

Limited opportunities

At just 20 years of age, the versatile attacking midfielder - who can also play on the wing - has time on his side despite failing to make a significant impression at Liverpool to-date.

Suso has made 14 Premier League appearances for the Reds, but was shipped out to Almeria last season by manager Brendan Rodgers and could now follow that spell with time in Italy.

However, the report claims this loan deal is with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the campaign, suggesting his time at Liverpool could be coming to a end.

The youngster arrived on Merseyside from Cadiz back in 2010, and was a revelation for the Academy and reserves. He was given his first senior opportunity two years later, but now finds himself out of favour at Anfield.

Rodgers' signings

Liverpool have been busy this summer, although their business appears to have been concluded before deadline day with the likes of Mario Balotelli, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren arriving at the club - in part funded by the sale of Luis Suarez.

The influx of players appears to have meant the end for Suso though, and if he does leave permanently for Milan at the end of the loan stint, it would be a case of unfulfilled potential with the Reds.
