The Spanish racer Oriol Servia will replace Mike Conway for this year's Formula E championship. Servia has already tested with the Dragon Racing team throughout testing.

Servia will line up against former Belgium Formula One driver Jerome d’ Ambrosio for the Chinese ePrix.

The young British IndyCar racer Mike Conway was due to be in the car next week for Dragon Racing, however his recent commitments to Toyota and their sportscar campaign has seen him been dropped from the American team.

Mike Conway released a statement saying:  “It’s a shame I can no longer participate but as I couldn't commit to the whole championship, we both felt it best to focus my attention on my sports car programme. I’m looking forward to watching the new series unfold and hope Servia and d’Ambrosio bring home some podiums for the team.”

Conway will be driving in the six hours of COTA in Austin Texas on the September 20.

Oriol Servia has been competing in IndyCar this year and has had a successful single seater career, which includes seasons in Champ Car and being crowned the 1999 Daytona Indy Lights champion.

The first Formula E race will take place on September 13 in China.
