Marco Reus is a man very much in demand, with yet another Premier League outfit eyeing the Borussia Dortmund forward's signature next summer.
Manchester United and Arsenal have already been extensively linked with a future swoop for the £20 million-rated German international this week, with Reus' release clause at Signal Iduna Park set to drop.
Manchester City interest
Now, according to the latest speculation from The Daily Star, Manchester City have entered the race by making the 25-year-old their top transfer target for 2015.
Indeed, those reports even go as far as to suggest that the champions' esteemed director of football - former Barcelona supremo Txiki Begiristain - has already begun work on securing a deal for Reus, who City supposedly believe would represent better value for money than Angel di Maria, the Argentine playmaker who was recently signed by rivals United for a British record transfer fee.
Who would he rather join?
Quite who Reus would prefer to join at this stage in unclear, although it seems likely that he will be leaving Dortmund in a year's time - perhaps even in January if the Bundesliga giants decide that they want to cash in for a higher fee while they still have the opportunity.
Reus is an immensely popular member of the Dourtmund squad under the charismatic Jurgen Klopp but endured a hefty blow this summer after being ruled out of Germany's successful travelling party for the World Cup in Brazil due to a nasty ankle injury sustained during a routine friendly win over minnows Armenia in June.
