WWE: Hollywood bosses want Batista to stop wrestling

Football News

Absent superstar Batista may never return to WWE. The star wrestler signed a new deal with Marvel Studios this week, according to PWInsider.com. And it is understood that the restructured contract will earn him more money based on the success of the first "Guardians" film.

Batista was one of the main stars of the film Guardians of the Galaxy in a performance that shocked many movie goers. When The Rock made his venture into films it was expected that he would be successful, but Batista came from pretty much obscurity to non-wrestling fans.

And now that he has been successful in the movie business, reports suggest that Hollywood bosses want to block the powerful wrestler from even returning to the WWE.

No more wrestling

Now, the reports are not suggesting that the move would be out of a greedy desire to control the part-time superstar. Rather, it's believed that Hollywood bosses feel that Batista's last venture back into WWE earlier this year was unsuccessful, and they don't want to see him risk an injury by doing something similar again if it's for no gain.

"As for Batista’s future in WWE, he does want to return, but his people in Hollywood do not want to see him return to pro wrestling as they feel he didn’t get what he deserved when he returned to WWE this year," WrestleZone reported.

"They feel WWE dropped the ball with Batista’s return, and did not allow him to use enough of his own ideas to help get himself over. Negotiations between Batista and WWE are ongoing, but it should be noted WWE will always be second to Batista’s movie career."

For all the controversy this may cause amongst WWE fans who believe that Batista is selling out, it's pretty understandable that people in power in Hollywood would want Batista to keep himself fit for the action on the movie screen rather than in the ring.

At the end of the day, WWE can't compare with the exposure and financial gaining power that a life in the film industry can provide.

Critical of WWE

Batista has been an extremely vocal critic of the WWE in recent weeks after he took part in a frank and honest interview on Chris Jericho's podcast, Talk is Jericho.

Amongst other explosive comments made during the piece, Batista delved into the passed and revealed a time when WWE Chairman Vince McMahon went too far and changed Batista's opinion on the WWE forever.

The incident was regarding Batista's decision to disobey McMahon's orders to not shed blood during a match with Jericho a few years back.

Batista ignored the calls and subsequently faced a $100,000 fine. And from that point on the absent wrestler revealed things were never the same again for him, and it's likely they won't be the same again after Batista signed this Marvel Studio's restructured contract as well.

What do you think WWE fans? Do you want Batista back in WWE at some point? And if so, what events would you book him for? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
