Not angry

Guarin's agent has claimed this, despite previous reports suggesting that he player was angry with the club as a move away failed to materialise. Guarin was hot property throughout the summer transfer window, with a number of clubs interested in his services.

The same report from talkSPORT has suggested that Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in his signature, whilst Real Madrid and Inter's Italian rivals Juventus were also monitoring the situation.

"I want to make it clear Guarin never requested a transfer," Ferreyra told

"Fredy is happy at Inter, always has been and will continue to be. We are absolutely not thinking about the transfer market.

"Fredy has everything he wants at Inter and has no need to go elsewhere. From what I hear, the offers were received by Inter.

"Walter Mazzarri will get the best out of him, just as he did last year."

Manchester United & Chelsea business

Despite failing to land Guarin in this past transfer window, the two clubs were extremely active throughout the summer. Manchester United spent as much as £150 million over the course of the summer, with the Red Devils landing the likes of Angel di Maria, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Radamel Falcao.

Chelsea, meanwhile, also splashed the cash with the likes of Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luís arriving at Stamford Bridge. It remains to be seen, however, as to whether either club step up their interest in the Inter ace in the future.

Immediate focus

For now, though, both Manchester United and Chelsea will be concentrating on this weekend's Premier League fixtures. Louis van Gaal's side play host to new-boys QPR at Old Trafford, with the club looking for their first win of the season.

Jose Mourinho's side will be hoping to continue their flying start to the season with a win against Welsh outfit Swansea City. The Blues have secured three wins out of three so far this term and already look the team to beat this season.
